BOATER FACILITY
Restroom facilities are provided for the general public on the Coopers Alley L-Head, Lawrence Street T-Head and Peoples Street T-Head. Boater Facilities (restroom, shower and laundry), located on the Coopers Alley L-Head and Lawrence Street T-Head, are provided for Marina customers. Please do not allow access to Boater Facilities to anyone with whom you are not familiar.
MARINA SLIP ACCOUNTS – DELINQUENCY – SECOND NOTICEIf you have any questions regarding the delinquency procedure, please contact the Marina Office. City procedures are being revised in order to comply with state law and regulations regarding the disposition of vessels. Section 6 of the Marina Space Rental Contract states: “Lessee shall be deemed 'delinquent' when the period of time for which he has paid his slip/space in advance, not including the deposit, has expired.” Effective October 1, 2003, slip accounts not paid by the 15th day of the month invoiced will be deemed delinquent and a late charge will be assessed. If the charges for the month billed remain unpaid by the first day of the following month, a 30-day delinquency will be declared, and the vessel/boat/watercraft is subject to being impounded, which will result in additional charges to the slip account. A 60-day delinquency will result in a foreclosure and public auction. Please be reminded that the monthly late charge is $57.75.
VESSEL REGISTRATION/DOCUMENTATION
Please contact the Marina Office if you have not provided the required proof of vessel ownership so that arrangements can be made to ensure that a copy of your registration/documentation is currently on file in the Marina.
State laws require that “all motorboats; regardless of length; all sailboats 14 feet in length or longer or any sailboat with an auxiliary engine(s); NEW – USCG Documented vessels (see section below); and all outboard motors must be titled.” Exempted vessels include "all (non-motorized) canoes, kayaks, punts, rowboats or rubber rafts (regardless of length) when paddled, poled or oared and sailboats under 14 feet in length when windblown."
REGISTRATION OF DOCUMENTED VESSELS
Effective January 1, 2004, vessels documented by the U. S. Coast Guard are no longer exempt from state registration requirements. Documented recreational vessels, shrimp boats and other commercial fishing boats are not exempt from state registration, unless they exceed 115 feet in length.
CONTACT INFORMATION
Please let us know, via fax, email or notice sent to the address below, when/if your telephone numbers or address information have changed. We rely on you to provide the most up-to-date information, which is important when it is necessary to make contact with you.
GATE SECURITY
In order to assist in the protection and security of vessels and persons who occupy vessels located on Marina piers, please be sure that you secure pier gates by: 1. securing gates each time you enter and/or exit piers; 2. not allowing “strangers” access to piers; 3. not tying gates open; and 4. not providing gate keys and/or pier access to persons that you will not accompany on the pier or your vessel unless those persons are registered with the Marina Office as being okay on board your vessel when you are not present.
Please be sure to notify the Marina Office, in writing, of the names of persons authorized to be aboard your vessel when you are not present (i.e. caretakers, family, etc.).
