City of Corpus Christi has a number of commissions and committees, of which the Parks & Recreation Department serves as liaison.
- Arts & Cultural Commission
The function of this commission is to advice City Council and the mayor on public art, the percent for art ordinance, and cultural activities to enhance economic development and tourism to Corpus Christi.
- City Council's Youth Advisory Committee
This committee assists and advises the City Council on city youth issues, encourage youth leadership, create opportunities for public discussion on youth issues and implement youth activities.

Commission on Children & Youth
The duties of this commission are to support a comprehensive system of services and advance policies to meet the needs of Corpus Christi's children, youth and their families. Click here for the Community Connections 2008 program (PDF file).

Community Youth Development (CYD) Collaborative Committee
The Committee’s main responsibility is to be the eyes and ears of the 78415 community, and to evaluate and rate proposals for funding of youth programs in the ZIP Code. The Committee recommends proposals for CYD funding to the City Council. At least two CYD youth participants must serve as regular members of the CYD Collaborative Committee; however, more are encouraged.

Leadership Committee for Senior Services
The purpose of this committee is to coordinate the efforts of the Senior Community Services division; which includes the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, the Senior Companion Program, and the Elderly Nutrition Program.

Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee
The purpose of this committee is to provide advice on City parks and buildings therein, public outdoor recreation areas and centers, and other grounds under its purview as designated by the City Manager.

Sister City Steering Committee
This committee studies ways and means of improving relations with Corpus Christi Sister Cities and to advise and consult the Council, the City Manager, and other City agencies in accomplishing the purposes of the Sister City program.

Water / Shore Advisory Committee
This committee provides advise to City Council and makes recommendations regarding development and use of the Waterfront, the Water Area, and the Marina.

Weed & Seed Steering Committee
The duties of this commission are to support the multi-agency strategy that "weeds out" violent crime, gang activity, drug use, and drug trafficking in targeted neighborhoods and then "seeds" the target area by restoring these neighborhoods through social and economic revitalization.
