Stretching from the site of Corpus Christi’s new American Bank Center's Arena to the wetlands along Oso Bay, the City of Corpus Christi has a unique hike and bike trail for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Along the Trail, people can view and visit some of the City’s most popular tourist attractions. Also, it’s widely recognized as a premier location for bird watching. The Oso Bay and Oso Creek provide habitat to threatened and endangered birds such as the piping plover, reddish egret, brown pelican and American peregrine falcon, just to name a few. And the area is rich with history. A considerable number of archaeological sites are believed to exist along the Cayo Del Oso and Oso Creek.
The Bay Trail can be traced back to 1991, when the City of Corpus Christi received a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation for the Bay Trail project. The Bay Trail currently extends eight miles from the Barge Dock near the new Arena and Bayfront Plaza Convention Center out to Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. Plans for the future include extending the trail along Ennis Joslin to SPID, and eventually through the City’s Southside.
